Events

Hope encourages building relationships within the congregation by having different events throughout the year:

Please look at the Calendar or contact the office for more information on when we will have different events.

Monthly potlucks: after the service, the congregation is invited to bring some food to share. It's a lovely time to try new food from others and talk with people from church. To accommodate everyone, we ask that food be labeled for allergens (markers and paper will be provided).

Curling at Sperling: a day away from our routine church gathering for fun community building at Sperling, MB, usually in the dead of winter. Whether you feel like playing board games, singing, colouring, eating good food, skating, knitting, curling or trying any of the above, there will be something for you at Hope's Curling at Sperling.

Church Retreat: a weekend away at Camp Assiniboia (Camps With Meaning), usually in late spring, where the congregation meets together for a few days. This creates space to get to know each other better, to have fun, to enjoy the outdoors, to work and to worship together.

Here are a few ways Hope engages with our surrounding community:

West Broadway Community Services (WBCS)- individual volunteers serve at WBCS and others organize food drives to collect food.

Justice Team- takes actions to respond to climate change, and to work toward more justice between indigenous and settler peoples.

Goods & Services Auction- an annual event that raises money for West Broadway Community Services.  People contribute items or services for sale, and the highest bidder takes it home.

Pride Sunday- On the Sunday of Pride Week, Hope worships jointly with our friends at Young United, then goes to take our place in the Pride Parade.  Keep an eye out for the matching blue t-shirts.

Refugees- Hope has been involved in sponsoring and supporting refugees over the years.
